Republic Day honors the date on which the constitution of India came into effect on 26th January, 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India.

70th Republic Day was celebrated in the Suryadev Nagar School Campus of St. Mary Champion School. Our Administrator Mr. Victor Swamy unfurled the national flag. This was followed by our National Anthem ‘Jan Gan Man’ sung by a team of students and after that the pledge was taken.

The cultural programme included patriotic mix and orchestra. The danceform of Jhansiwali Rani along with awe-inspiring rendition of the same by the students made all bow in allegiance to the brave freedom fighters who laid their lives for the motherland. Today we are proud of our nation’s achievements and look ahead to a bright future for our country India which has flourished despite adversities to rise victorious.

Active participation was seen from the students, which gave a glimpse of their patriotic fervor towards the country. Prize distribution related to sports was done by our Administrator and the Coordinator.

Our Administrator emphasized the need for student participation in Games and sports.

The whole programme of Republic day was nice. The programme ended with the distribution of sweets…
