SMCHSS organizes CBSE Regional level Science Exhibition

Science exhibition is a platform to showcase the imagination and creativity of the students in the innovative world of science.

St. Mary Champion H.S. School, Indore, hosted a two days’ CBSE Regional level Science Exhibition on 29th & 30th January.  More than 35 schools from Ajmer region participated in the exhibition with 58 model projects. The exhibition commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Dr. Maya Ingle and the Director of the school. An encouraging speech was given by the chief guest Dr. Mrs. Maya Ingle, whereby she instructed the students to follow the 3D’s in life i.e. Discipline, devotion and dedication to achieve their life goals. The Director of the school Mr. S.L. Swamy also addressed the gathering and gave the message of hard work and honesty towards the achievement of our goals. A formal welcome of the chief guest and the jury of judges followed with a short cultural program.

The panel of six judges which was a bunch of supremely talented and well- known personalities holding eminent positions in the field of science that included the scientists from RRCAT, deans, HOD’s and the personnel of various government and private colleges and organizations such as SGSITS, Sri Aurobindo Institute of Technology, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, etc. The judges followed a rigorous process to adjudge the winners from every sub-theme which were – Agriculture & Organic Farming, Health & Cleanliness, Resource Management, Waste Management, Transport & Communication and Mathematical Modeling. The best three exhibits from each sub-theme were awarded certificates and these teams will participate in the national level exhibition at Mayoor School, Noida on 8th & 9th February 2019.

Budding students from across the state presented various working and non working models depicting the sub-themes under the main theme SCIENTIFIC SOLUTIONS FOR CHALLENGES IN LIFE’. Demonstration and explanations were given by the participants and the spectators including teachers and students from various schools of Indore were greatly impressed by the demonstrations.

The valedictory ceremony was presided over by the specially invited guest Mr. Mohit Yadav, the chairperson of the Indore Sahodaya School Complex. The Principal appreciated the performances of the participating teams extended her vote of thanks and lifted the spirits of all by highlighting their capacity to enrich and enhance a better humanistic growth and development.

The event reflected upon the growing realization that we have to adapt to the changing regional, national and international environment and prepare ourselves well to meet emerging threats and challenges in consonance with the changing world.
