National Youth Day and Makar Sankranti celebration

Makar Sankranti is believed traditionally to mark the arrival of spring in India. As it is the festival of Sun God and he is regarded as the symbol of divinity and wisdom, the festival also holds an eternal meaning to it. To mark the occasion, a special assembly for Makar Sankranti was organized by the staff and students of the St. Mary Champion H. S. School on 15th January 2020.
Students also narrated how the festival is celebrated across various states of India.

National Youth Day (Yuva Diwas or the birthday of Swami Viekananda) was celebrated at the St. Mary Champion H. S. School on 15th January 2020. On this occasion, inspiring speeches on Swami Vivekananda, songs, Yoga, presentations, sports, etc. were some of the activities performed by the students to inspire the youth.
The school management spoke of the importance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and paid homage to his contribution to the Indian society in promoting education, art and way of life.
